graduated from Clark University with a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish and obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Salem State University. Ms. Costa is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and has worked in the social work field since 1994. She has worked with the Department of Children and Families in Massachusetts both in the capacity of social worker and social work supervisor. Prior to opening her private practice in 2008, she worked in an outpatient mental health clinic providing psychotherapy to children, families and adults.
Ms. Costa and her research colleagues presented their research entitled Families as Partners: Shifting Paradigms in Child Welfare at the 2004 NASW Massachusetts Symposium and the 2005 National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Costa has completed a Post-Master's Certificate Program on Complex Trauma at the Simmon's School of Social Work.
